O’Brien sparks Devils to victory over Tigers Searsport, Woodland, Medomak post wins

CALAIS – Matt O’Brien hit three singles and knocked in two runs to lead Calais to an 8-4 victory over Shead in high school baseball action Friday.

Nick Harmon had two singles and an RBI for the Blue Devils. David Crossman singled twice and Keegan McCormick hit an RBI single.

Jacob Stanley hit a solo home run in the third inning for the Tigers of Eastport, and Timmy Reed hit an RBI double. Aaron Sullivan and Mike Cummings singled twice apiece.

At East Sullivan, Tom Cameron slapped a two-run double to spark a seven-run second inning, and Caleb Ashey added an RBI double during the rally as Searsport rolled to the win.

Cameron finished with two doubles, a single and three RBIs, and Ashey added another RBI double for the Vikings.

Evan Kingsbury notched an RBI double and RBI single and Justin Brassbridge two singles and an RBI for the winners.

Evan Alexander hit a pair of singles for the Tigers.

At Woodland, Andy Brown’s two-run single highlighted a go-ahead four-run rally in the bottom of the fifth that propelled the Dragons to their eighth victory.

Brown finished with three singles for Woodland, while brothers Mark and Jason McLellan each singled twice.

Lucas Holmes singled twice and Sean Milliken doubled for Jonesport-Beals.

At Waldoboro, Josh Chamberlin had four singles and Zach Durkee hit a grand slam as Medomak Valley topped Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield in a five-inning game.

Alex Goldrup added three singles for the Panthers, while winning pitcher Corey Olson tripled and singled, Zach Pease doubled and singled, and Marcus Benner and Steven Genthner each singled twice.

Victor Quint, relegated to DH duties by an arm injury, doubled and singled for MCI, and Ethan West singled twice.

Jared Theriault had three singles and an RBI for the Patriots, and Phil Dougherty added two singles and two RBIs.

Jeremy Cospanca hit an RBI single for the Eagles, and Damilo Tibbets and Justin Stewart each singled.
