St. Albans teacher seeks selectman’s post

ST. ALBANS – Marian Spalding has announced her candidacy for selectman. Elections will be held June 12 and Spalding is vying for the seat vacated when Curt Lombard recently resigned. Her opponent is former Selectman Daniel Hanson.

This would be a return engagement for Spalding, who served as selectman from 1995 to 1999 and also served on the town’s budget committee for eight years.

Spalding has been an elementary school teacher for 23 years and has a master'[s degree in education.

“I believe honesty, integrity, respect and accountability need to be present at all levels of government,” Spalding said in a prepared statement. “I will listen to all citizens’ concerns and attempt to find ways to move the town of St. Albans forward and to improve the town’s infrastructure.”

Spalding said residents may call her at 938-2676 or e-mail marian@dougspaulding.com for more information.
