Narraguagus High School
HARRINGTON – Principal Nancy Melhorn has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2007 at Narraguagus High School. Graduation exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, in the Charles F. Lawrence Gymnasium.
Maryssa Hatt, daughter of Will Hatt of Waltham and Lisa Ramsdell of Columbia, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2007. She plans to attend Merrimack College to study science-veterinary medicine.
Hatt is vice president of the National Honor Society as well as a member of the outdoor club and varsity club. She has received the Golden Apple award, Newspapers in Education Editorial Award and numerous individual class awards. While at Narraguagus, she has participated in cross-country, basketball and cheering. She has completed community service and internships at the Machias Animal Hospital, Ark Animal Shelter and Milbridge Veterinary Clinic.
Nancy Varin, daughter of Ronald and Carol Varin of Beddington, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2007. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington to study pre-law-political science.
Varin is secretary of the National Honor Society and the Class of 2007, a member of the Destination Imagination team, band, drama, math league as well as French club. She has received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen award, Principal’s Award, Phi Beta Kappa Association of Maine Certificate of Recognition, Newspapers in Education Editorial Award and the Golden Apple award and was a Girls State representative. She has volunteered at the Beddington Town Hall.
