Fabulous fiddleheads

Fiddlehead lovers should hurry to the General Store and More, where owners Emily and Steve Johnson serve a mean seasonal stir-fry. Can’t get there from here? Saute cooked fiddleheads, fajita-spiced chicken breast and minced garlic in butter. Add cooked spaghetti and toss until heated through. The General Store and More is located on Route 11 in Brownville Junction.

Go ask Alice

Even if you’re one mad hatter, you’d have to be nuts to miss the “Alice in Wonderland” tea party this Saturday at Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor. During seatings at 1 and 3 p.m., partygoers can sample lemonade, tea and treats and get a sneak peek at scenes from Bangor Ballet’s performance of “Alice in Wonderland.” Tiny dancers can even have a mini dance lesson with characters from the show. Tickets are $10 for museum members, $16 for nonmembers. Seating is limited. To reserve, call 262-7200.

One Maine lobster business has claws for applause. Shucks Maine Lobster was named Best Food Service Product and Best Convenience Product at the European Seafood Exposition in Belgium. These prestigious Prix d’Elite awards are considered the “Academy Awards” of the seafood industry, according the Maine Lobster Promotion Council.
