The letter “Rep. Paul got it right” (BDN, May 23) was about the lack of qualified contenders for the office of U.S. president in 2008. I went online and checked out their credentials and positions on the issues now facing this country.
I discovered that Mitt Romney has the experience, intelligence and foresight to lead America. If you care about streamlining government and cutting out waste without raising taxes for the hard-working citizens, he did that in Massachusetts. If you are concerned about rooting out corruption and turning perspectives around 180 degrees, he did that with the Salt Lake Olympics. If you want a leader who knows how to make hard financial decisions and turn a floundering economy into a prospering entity, he also did that in Massachusetts.
He has been phenomenally successful in his own business endeavors, so he knows how to be a CEO. He has a hardball attitude about preventing terrorists from overtaking this land, beginning with strengthening our military force and protecting our borders from illegal infiltration.
He is blessed with a sense of humor and the ability to communicate sensibly with both conservative- and liberal- minded constituents. He appreciates the value of all life and understands completely the detrimental effects of religious persecution.
Mitt Romney understands the problems facing this country and will work to solve them, bringing America around again to the great nation it once was. He is the most qualified candidate.
