LYMAN – Two teenagers were killed and a third was hospitalized in a single-car accident early Saturday morning, police said.

Maine State Police identified the victims as Daryn Petrin and Timothy Gagne Jr., both 18 and from Arundel.

A 17-year-old Biddeford boy, whose name was not released, was being treated at Maine Medical Center in Portland for nonlife-threatening injuries.

The Volvo in which the teenagers were riding overturned on Hill Road at about 3 a.m. and came to rest on its roof in a ditch, according to Trooper Kristopher Kennedy. The impact of the crash tore the engine from the car; it was found about 100 feet away from the wreckage.

Petrin and Gagne were thrown from the vehicle and were dead at the scene. The survivor remained inside the car.

Investigators said they are trying to determine where the teenagers had been earlier in the night.
