Former Saint Joseph’s College lefthander Charlie Furbush, who played this season at Louisiana State University, was selected in the fourth round of the major league draft by the Detroit Tigers.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder from South Portland was the 151st pick overall. Furbush posted a 3-9 record at LSU with a 4.95 earned run average. He struck out 88 in 87 1/3 innings, but gave up 104 hits.
