Hampden Academy

Hampden Academy will hold its graduation exercises at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 10. Weather permitting, graduation will be held outdoors on the multipurpose field. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Skehan Center. Tickets are required to attend graduation at either site.

Sam Wood, son of Robin and Jonathan Wood of Hampden, will deliver the valedictory address. He plans to attend Yale in the fall.

For three years, he has been a member of Mock Trial, which won the state championship each of those years. He also has competed with the jazz ensemble, the school show choir and Voices Unlimited. He has been on the varsity soccer, ski, indoor track and tennis teams.

Nellie E. Wood, daughter of Robin and Jonathan Wood of Hampden, will deliver the salutatory address. She will attend Middlebury College in the fall.

She has been involved in the National Honor Society, Key Club, mentoring, jazz ensemble, and show choir. She also has been a member of the field hockey, indoor track and softball teams, earning All-Conference honors in all three and All-State honors in field hockey. She has served as a captain of all three teams during her senior year.

Nate Brown, son of Eric Brown and Jean Camuso of Hampden, will deliver the honor essay. He will attend Cornell University in the fall.

He has been an active member during his four years in Junior Classical League serving as Hampden Academy JCL president his junior year and as state JCL president his senior year. He has been involved all four years in the drama, French and leadership clubs, and has participated on the soccer, indoor track and outdoor track teams. He was a member of the National Honor Society in his junior and senior years.
