The Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association recently welcomed Tom Eichler of Jefferson to its board of directors. Eichler and his wife, Wendy, retired in 2004 after long careers with the U.S. Information Agency and the State Department in both Washington and overseas. He specialized in economic reporting, and retired as editor in chief of the State Department’s daily international information service, overseeing output of a 40-person writer-editor staff.

The SVCA was founded in 1969 to conserve the natural and historic heritage of the Sheepscot watershed through land protection, habitat restoration, support for compatible land use patterns, advocacy and education.
