WINTER HARBOR – It was unclear Tuesday night who the town’s new selectman will be, according to a local official.
There were no declared candidates on the ballot for selectman, Town Manager Roger Barto said. There were two write-in candidates, but Barto said he was not sure if either would accept the position.
For this reason, Barto declined to say who the write-in candidates were or how many votes each received. He said he would check with the candidates before he announced who they were.
In other local elections, there were no contested races. Dolora Conley was elected to the school board, Peter Drinkwater to the planning board, John Fuhrman to the water district and William Van Horn to the utilities district, Barto said.
