HOLDEN – With only a few questions, 29 residents in town endorsed all of the warrant items at Wednesday’s annual town meeting.

The town is still awaiting final property value figures, but even so, Town Manager Larry Varisco told residents that he expects no increase in taxes.

The property tax rate this year is $11.22 per $100,000 in property value.

The following is the approved $1.99 million municipal budget for 2007-08:

. $464,411 for general government, a decrease of $16,203 from last year.

. $258,104 for administration, an increase of $20,911.

. $364,969 for public safety, an increase of $42,819.

. $441,008 for public works, an increase of $4,066.

. $60,000 for municipal properties, an increase of $12,700.

. $165,125 for sanitation, an increase of $6,311.

. $93,060 for health and welfare, a decrease of $7,294.

. $148,380 for debt service, an increase of $373.

Residents also set aside $100,000 in funds for technical assistance with the Interstate 395-Route 9 connector, something they have done for the past three years. None of the previous years’ funds have been used, Varisco said.
