Scott Storgaard of Veazie recently was hired as vice president and trust investment officer by Bar Harbor Trust Services, a division of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. Storgaard, who works from the bank’s Bangor and Ellsworth locations, will manage clients’ investment portfolios. He has worked extensively with high-net-worth clients during his 20-year career, which includes time at Means Investment Co., Bank of America and Fleet Investment Advisors. He is currently a volunteer treasurer for the Orono-Veazie Little League and has previously served on the Bangor Homeless Shelter Board and Bangor YMCA Investment Committee, and he has been a member of Bangor Rotary.

Elizabeth A. Della Valle has joined Friends of Midcoast Maine in Camden to help develop a smart-growth technical assistance program for the region. FMM is a nonprofit that promotes smart-growth approaches to prevent sprawl in the midcoast region. Della Valle also will develop workshops and training programs for member communities. Jane Lafleur, FMM’s executive director, said Della Valle will improve the midcoast region’s ability to wisely plan for growth. “Beth brings a wealth of planning knowledge and experience to FMM,” Lafleur said. Previously, Della Valle was coordinator of the land use team and program manager of the community planning and investment program at the Maine State Planning Office. She also was a planner and project manager for Market Decisions Inc. and began her career as a planner and then planning director for the city of South Portland.

For the seventh year, Gene McKeever of the Allen Agency of Camden has been selected to review Maine’s Bureau of Insurance’s licensing exam questions for accuracy. The bureau annually selects insurance executives for their integrity and high degree of industry knowledge to keep the exam up to date. McKeever, who specializes in marine insurance, was one of six executives tapped by the state for assistance on the property and casualty exam, one of the more complicated tests, according to the insurance bureau. “I feel strongly about the education of those just starting out in our industry,” said McKeever. “It’s an honor and a pleasure to help the state in this way.”

Joshua Palmer has been promoted to a data solutions specialist on Unicel’s data solutions team in Bangor. Unicel is a provider of wireless products and services in primarily rural areas. In his new role, Palmer will work to determine business customers’ data needs and develop solutions to problems. Palmer also will provide training on data devices and services to other staff members. Mikal Pederson, data solutions director for Unicel, said Palmer will bring great enthusiasm and experience to the position. “We are excited to have Joshua Palmer in this key position,” Pederson said.
