A “Captivated Bold and Beautiful” conference for girls between 12 and 19 will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Jeff’s Catering. Sponsored by Cross-Connected.net, a group that helps local churches network, the daylong event will include a fashion show and beauty makeovers. Rashida T. Jolley of Washington, D.C., will be the keynote speaker. A graduate of Nyack College, Jolley is a harpist and singer who also travels the country as a motivational speaker. Her goal, according to information on her Web site, is to educate people on the benefits of abstinence. Her debut CD, “Love is Not a Game,” was released in 2005.
