Missile defense system

What exactly is this missile defense system George Bush is so excited about putting over in Europe, and how much will it cost? The system will obviously be classified and the American people will really know very little about it.

The fact is it costs billions of dollars and is irritating the Russians, is about all the American people will be authorized to know. The American government seems to have limited perspective when it comes to understanding the position of other countries around the world. They seem surprised Syria and Iran are supplying the Iraqis with weapons.

What if China attacked Mexico or Canada, wouldn’t we help? How well would it go over if Russia wanted to help Cuba or Venezuela set up a missile defense system? That idea almost started a nuclear war in 1963. With all our problems and overwhelming deficit, we could spend our money on better programs than missiles in Europe.
