Boothbay freshman Matthew Forgues finished second in the one-mile racewalk at the Nike Outdoor Track and Field Championships in North Carolina over the weekend.

Forgues walked a solid time of 7 minutes, 16.71 seconds, four seconds behind winner Evan Crowdus of Kentucky.

Skowhegan senior Grant Bacon finished third, just ahead of Scarborough’s Taylor Burns, while Ryan Fitzsimons of Leavitt of Turner was fifth and Ike Brochu from Massabesic in Waterboro was sixth.
