CAMDEN – Police are investigating a series of tire-slashing incidents that occurred overnight Sunday.
Patrolman Curt Andrick said the incidents were reported Monday morning as residents prepared to use their vehicles and found the tires slashed. Residents reported the crimes to the Knox Regional Communications Center, which has assumed dispatch services for the town after voters at last week’s annual town meeting eliminated the local dispatchers.
Andrick said four tires were slashed on a trailer and one tire on a truck that were both parked at the Knox Mill parking lot on Washington Street. In addition, two tires on a car in front of the Baptist Church on Chestnut Street were slashed. He estimated the total loss at $700 to $800.
