SCARBOROUGH – Bangor’s Jesse Speirs was the low qualifier at the USGA Public Links tournament at Nonesuch River Golf Club with a two-round score of 137. His score qualifies him to play in the national championship at Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton, Ill., July 14-19. Speirs shot a 68 in the first round and a 69 in the second.
