BREWER – Greg Higgins pitched eight strong innings and the Brewer Falcons got two big hits to plate runs in the seventh to edge Motor City of Bangor 2-0 in Zone 1 American Legion baseball action at Heddericg Field Wednesday.

Higgins allowed three hits and four walks while notching eight strikeouts.

In the seventh, Eric White led off with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice. A strikeout later, Ricky Adams hit an RBI double to the left-center field gap and scored on Eddie Robbins’ triple down the right-field line.

Adams had a double and a single. Brad Brown added a double for the Falcons.

Singles by Casey Hull, Jon Gagnon and Chris Smith were the only Motor City hits.

At Hermon, Andy Treadwell hit a two-run double and Chris Whitney a two-run single as Aerus beat Moving Me.com.

Matt Farnham singled twice for the winners.

Ryan Logan hit an RBI single and James Strout two singles and a double for Moving Me.com.
