PITTSFIELD – Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union officially opened its new Pittsfield branch recently with a “School’s Out – Summer Savings Spectacular.”
Pittsfield Mayor Timothy Nichols was on hand for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, and representatives from the Pittsfield Recreation Department also attended to accept a $500 donation from the credit union. The donation will be used toward the purchase of playground equipment for Hawthorn Park, which the recreation department is currently renovating.
The “School’s Out – Summer Savings Spectacular” featured the introduction of the “Young Bucks Savings Club” for children age 12 and under. The club is a way for youngsters to learn about banking and money management and have their own savings account. All children who attended the event were encouraged to register for the club, and those who opened an account with a $10 deposit were given an extra $5 from the SVFCU.
