Burke, Waldo hand Acadians first loss Lincoln, Presque Isle notch victories

BLUE HILL – Noah Burke homered and singled to drive in three runs and lead Waldo to a 10-5 American Legion baseball victory over Trenton on Tuesday.

Miles Davee singled three times for the Wildcats. Casey Ashey and Tyler Miles hit two singles each.

Nick Swanson hit two doubles and knocked in a run for the Acadians. Phineas Peake added two singles.

Lincoln 9, Penquis 2

At Millinocket, Aaron Flannery hit a two-run homer and a two-run single and walked with the bases loaded to drive in five runs and lead Lincoln past Penquis.

Cory Barnett hit a grand slam and Jordan Burleigh a double and a single for the Lumber.

Dan Beatham and Nick Emery each doubled and singled to knock in a run while Brad Brown doubled and singled for Penquis.

Presque Isle 13, Hampden 10

At Presque Isle, Matt McGlinn hit a two-run double to lead Presque Isle past Hampden.

Hunter Caron and Michael Cleary each had three singles and an RBI for the Patriots.

Joel Neill paced Hampden with a two-run home run while Justin Kelsey and Shawn Smith each added two singles.

At Searsport, Anthony DeRosa scattered seven hits, striking out seven and walking two, and Randy Renaud belted a two-run homer in a three-run fifth inning rally that broke the game open.

Toby Cole had an RBI double in the fifth and also had a single in the game. Mark Farnham singled twice.

Roland Littlefield and Tom Dennen had two singles apiece for Montville.
