Gov. John Baldacci has ordered that the U.S. and Maine flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, July 3, in honor of Sgt. Joel House of Lee, who was killed recently in Iraq.
House’s funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Lee Academy gym. Baldacci is expected to speak at House’s funeral, according to a press release from the governor’s office Friday.
House, who was serving with the 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood, Texas, died June 23 as the result of an IED attack in Taji, Iraq.
