ADDISON – Sixteen Washington County artists who live in coastal Addison and Harrington are opening up their studios for a two-day driving tour July 20 and 21.

The “Meet the Artists Tour” is the second such event organized by the Sunrise Senior College, which last July arranged for a similar tour of 20 artists’ studios within Jonesport and Beals. More than 200 people toured the Jonesport-Beals artists’ studios in 2006.

The Addison area tour is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. It is free for members of the Sunrise Senior College and $5 for others.

Tour “tickets” are the brochures that tell about each artist, with a map of the suggested driving route. The ticket is good to use over both days.

The brochures are available at the Addison town office, which also will be a site to purchase lunch, or buy a $5 raffle ticket on artist Ken Graslie’s watercolor of boats in the harbor. Some of the artists will be displaying their work at the town office rather than at their studios.

For more information, contact Susan Sheridan, the project leader, at 497-2602.
