Rodney Bauer, 57, was taken by ambulance to the Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital in Greenville and later was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was treated and released, according to family member.

Bauer and another motorcyclist were traveling on Route 15 when Bauer’s motorcycle went off the edge of the highway and crashed-landed, according to Sgt. Investigator Michael Gould of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department.

Bauer was wearing a helmet at the time of the 11:26 a.m. accident, Gould said.
