ST. FELICIEN, Quebec – Adam Craig of Corinth and Bend, Ore., earned his second top-10 finish of the International Cycling Union World Cup cross country mountain bike season Sunday, finishing 10th overall in the elite men’s division during the fifth stop on the six-race circuit.

Olympic champion Julien Absalon of France earned his fourth consecutive victory and clinched his second straight World Cup points title with one event still to race, on Sept. 15-16 at Maribor, Slovenia.

Jose Hermida of Spain placed second at St. Felicien, 1 minute, 18 seconds behind Absalon.

Craig was 5:39 behind Absalon, and finished as the top American in the 93-rider field. Second among Americans was Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski (24th), followed by Craig’s Giant Bicycles teammate, Carl Decker (47th).

Craig is idle this weekend before heading to Brazil in mid-July to compete in the 2007 Pan American Games.
