Music lovers, art aficionados and shoppers will find common ground this weekend at the annual Arts in the Park festival on Belfast’s waterfront. Now in its 12th year, the event will feature the work of 75 artists and artisans, including Ron Cowan’s ubiquitous “muses,” which decorate front yards, gardens and storefronts throughout town. Willise, the new blues-bluegrass-folk-country rock duo of Willy Kelly and Elise Sproul, will kick off the show at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7. Among the weekend’s other musical highlights are the U.S. Army Band Jazz Combo, singer-songwriter Carolyn Currie, the female fiddler group McFravis, Flash in the Pans steel band and the Blue Hill Brass. Arts in the Park is the chief fundraiser for Friends of Belfast Parks, a nonprofit group dedicated to supporting the city’s nine public green spaces. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 7, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 8, in Heritage Park, at the base of Main Street in Belfast. For information, visit www.fopb.org.
