Motor City trips up Calais in ninth 2-1 Healey, Smith lift team to third victory

BANGOR – Aaron Healey hit a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth to drive in Nick Smith and give Motor City a 2-1 American Legion baseball victory over the Calais Sun Thursday at the Winkin Complex.

Kyle Gallant paced Motor City with two singles and a first-inning RBI.

Matt O’Brien singled twice for Calais.

Trenton 10, Bangor 1

At Blue Hill, Collin Henry allowed one run on two hits, two walks and one hit batsman while striking out eight to lead the Acadians past Bangor.

Lucas Marks homered, doubled, and singled to drive in five runs for Trenton, and Blake Wessel hit a double and two singles.

Tom Crews homered in the fourth inning for the Comrades. Ian Edwards singled for the only other hit.

Penquis 6, Lincoln 2

At Dover-Foxcroft, Nick Emery cranked a two-run home run and struck out eight as the Navigators topped the Lumber.

Danny Beatham had a two-run double and another RBI for Penquis. Danny Kane hit an RBI double and Brad Bellemare added a double.

Tyson Tash led Lincoln with a solo home run, three singles and two runs scored. Tyler Thompson had two singles and Aaron Flannery added an RBI.

Waldo 8, Orono 5

At Searsport, Miles Davee and Noah Burke scored on a Jarrett Lukas error in the sixth inning as Waldo snapped a 5-5 tie and pulled away for the win.

Burke finished with a triple, double, one RBI, and two runs scored; Davee and Rick Bernosky each posted a double, single, and RBI, and Caleb Ashey added two singles and an RBI.

Dana Leland powered the Twins with a solo homer and a two-run single. Casey Fournier had two singles and scored a run, and Adam Fournier had a double and an RBI.
