Dover-Foxcroft police are investigating break-ins that occurred since last fall at three seasonal camps on Parsons Landing Road.
A shotgun was taken in one break-in and alcohol from another, according to Lt. Scott Arno of the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department. Arno said the third camp owner has not yet provided police with a list of the items taken during the break-in.
The break-ins were discovered in the last few days when camp owners came for the holiday, according to Arno. He said doors were either kicked open or windows were forced open to gain entry. (Diana Bowley, BDN)
A chance visit to ensure that a Derby man was abiding by his probation order on earlier charges Thursday resulted in more violations.
When officers arrived at the home of Jose Vazquez, 30, they found assorted drug paraphernalia and marijuana, according to Milo Police Chief Michael Poulin.
Poulin said Vazquez was arrested for violation of probation and his roommate, Denise Sibert, 29, who allegedly told police the paraphernalia and drugs were hers, was summoned for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs.
Twelve bags of assorted items including marijuana, seeds, scales, roaches and unknown pills were removed from the home.
Poulin and probation officer Dan Dickson were assisted by Piscataquis County sheriff’s Deputy George McCormick, Sgt. Terry Smith and Milo police Officer Jason Williams, and Trooper Barry Meserve. (Diana Bowley, BDN)
