Seven-time NASCAR points champion Richard Petty will be on hand July 14 when the 13th annual Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America gets under way at the Harborside Hotel, Spa and Marina in Bar Harbor.
It will kick off at 8 a.m.
The motorcycle ride across the country features NASCAR celebrities, ride sponsors, motorcycle enthusiasts and fans.
The ride has logged more than 45,000 miles and included more than 5,350 riders while donating more than $9 million to charity.
The ride is expected to go from Bar Harbor through Ellsworth before heading into Belfast and Augusta and on to Interstate-95 to Portland. The ride is expected to make one stop in Augusta.
Richard Petty’s 200 career wins and 126 pole positions are tops in the history of Nextel Cup racing.
He has been inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
His seven points titles tie him atop the all-time list with the late Dale Earnhardt.
