BANGOR – Holbrook and Hampden stayed alive while Hermon, Katahdin, Glenburn, and Old Town were eliminated during the District 3 Junior League All-Star baseball tourney over the weekend at Mansfield Stadium.

Holbrook eliminated Glenburn 8-1 and Hampden ousted Old Town 14-1 on Sunday after Glenburn had eliminated Hermon 16-5 and Old Town ousted Katahdin 8-6 on Saturday.

Hampden and Holbrook advanced to Tuesday elimination games against the losers of Monday’s games that feature Bangor vs. Orono-Veazie at 5 p.m. and Lincoln vs. Brewer at 7y:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Hampden will play the Bangor-Orono loser at 5 p.m. and Holbrook will take on the Lincoln-Brewer loser at 7:30 p.m.

In Saturday’s first game, Glenburn-Levant scored eight runs on one hit in the top of the fifth to put away the win.

Brandon Thayer doubled and singled for Glenburn-Levant, while Zach Campbell drove in three runs on two singles.

Cody Veilleux paced Hermon with a double, two singles and two RBIs. Nick Byers singled twice.

In Saturday’s second game, Old Town put up five runs in the bottom of the fourth to break a 3-3 tie and earn the victory.

Old Town’s Cody Cross hit two singles and a double. Casey Estes added two singles and two RBIs.

Brandon Robinson of Katahdin Valley hit four singles and drove in a run. Cody Robinson recorded two doubles, while Anthony DiaFario doubled and singled.

In Sunday’s first game, Kyle Senter slapped two singles for two RBIs in the fourth inning as Holbrook sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven runs on seven hits.

Jacob Chapman chipped in with a two-run double in the fourth.

Brandon Thayer and Luke Phillipon each singled twice for Glenburn-Levant.

In Sunday’s second game, Fred Knight pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts as Hampden recorded the win.

Knight also doubled, hit three singles, and tallied two RBIs. Charlie Rawcliffe hit a double and a single, while Connor Perry singled twice and drove in a run.

Cody Cross and Ryan Vienneau of Old Town each singled.
