Holbrook uses big rally to tip Lincoln

HOLDEN – After being limited to one hit over the first five innings, Holbrook erupted for five runs on four hits in the top of the sixth to earn a 7-4 victory over Lincoln in Monday’s District 3 ages 11-12 all-star elimination game.

Ian Burgess, John Deschaine and Kris Coleman each singled home a run in the Holbrook sixth, while Joey Davis plated a run when his single was misplayed in the outfield.

Burgess finished with two singles, while teammate Josh Theriault scored two runs.

Shawn Curran earned the pitching win.

Trysten Pelkey and Sutton Crosby each tripled for Lincoln.

Bangor East 5, Hampden 2

At Hampden, Collin Kimsey doubled and singled with an RBI and recorded nine strikeouts to push Bangor East past Hampden.

Matt Cosgrove singled twice for Bangor East and Patrick Stewart added an RBI single.

Logan Steward hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for Hampden and Cooper Antone singled and stole home.

At Brewer, Kyle Alexander doubled and scored the winning run in the third inning to lead Brewer to victory over Glenburn in an elimination game.

Matt Morrow singled and drove in a run for Brewer and Ian Forrest singled and scored.

Gerry Turner hit a two-run single to lead Glenburn. Ben Thayer had two singles and Zeb Tuell doubled.

At Hampden, Ethan Handley tripled and singled to knock in two runs and lift Holbrook over Bangor East.

John Collins had a double and a single with two RBIs for Holbrook and Alec Wortman doubled and singled with an RBI.

Cody Collins, Rye Powell and Logan Hartley singled for Bangor East.

At Blue Hill, Chase Bickford doubled and singled to help lead Ellsworth past Coastal.

At Bangor, Kyle McLain singled twice to knock in three runs as Brewer rolled past Lincoln.

Yuhi Sasaki had three singles and two RBIs and Joey Bartol a two-run single for Brewer. Lucas LaMonde doubled and singled twice to drive in a run.

Devin DeLaite had two singles for Lincoln.

At Bangor, Bangor scored three unearned runs without the benefit of a hit in the second inning, taking advantage of three Orono-Veazie errors en route to the win.

Joe Stagevicz singled for Bangor’s lone hit.

Andy Rios singled to knock in a run for Orono-Veazie. Sean Kilpatrick struck out five in the loss.

Hermon 9, Lincoln 6

At Orrington, Shannon Graves tripled and singled with two RBIs to lead Hermon past Lincoln and win the District 3 11-12 softball championship.

Laura Sirois doubled and singled for Hermon and Kristen Wilcox doubled.

Ashley Libby led Lincoln with a two-run double and Desirae Briggs added an RBI single.

At Glenburn, Tiffany Pinkham hit a three-run home run, triple, and two singles with five RBIs to lead Glenburn past Bangor.

Shaniah Haskell had two doubles and two singles with four RBIs for Glenburn and Casey Whitney added three singles and three RBIs. Mikayla McLaughlin and Sarah Baker singled three times.

Cordelia Stewart hit a double and two singles to drive in three runs for Bangor. Monica Schultz hit a two-run double and Allison Boulier had two singles and an RBI.
