Stewart sparks victory in sixth Bangor East tips Bangor West 6-5

BANGOR – Patrick Stewart hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth to lift the Bangor East Little League All-Stars to a 6-5 baseball victory over Bangor West for ages 11-12 Tuesday.

Ben Mann and Mark Paulette each singled and doubled while Kenny Colpritt doubled for the winners.

Bobby Winchell had three singles for Bangor West. Carl Farnham and Tyler LaPlante each added two singles and Ron Cook a double.

At Hampden, Sam Ward hit a three-run home run and an RBI single to help lift Hampden-Newburgh over Holbrook.

Cooper Antone had two doubles and a single with an RBI for Hampden-Newburgh. Logan Stewart singled with two RBIs and Brian Fickett hit a double and drove in a run.

Josh Williams led Holbrook with a double. Charles Kindya, Jon Deschaine and Joey Davis each hit an RBI single.

Kyle Alexander had three singles to drive in two runs while Spencer Valley had a pair of RBI singles for the winners. Sam Stanhope added two singles and an RBI.

Evan Pelkey had a pair of doubles to drive in two runs for Orrington. Ryan Gagne hit three singles and drove in a run while Christian LaCouture singled twice to knock a run in.

Mitchell Domagala hit a two-run home run for Ellsworth.

Carter Deredin tripled to drive in two runs for Bucksport and Bailey Graychase added an RBI single.

At Bangor, Mitchell Bradford hit a grand slam and a triple to help lift Millinocket over Glenburn-Levant.

At Hampden, Matt Martin allowed one run on six hits and one walk while striking out 16 to lead Hampden past Holbrook to win the championship.

Keenan Quigley doubled and singled with two RBIs for Hampden and Brendan Mallett hit a two-run double. Zach Gilpin hit an RBI triple and Martin added a two-run single.

Ethan Handley singled, double and tripled and scored a run for Holbrook. Alec Wortman singled twice.

At Bucksport, Tim Nason allowed just one hit and no walks while striking out six to lead Bucksport to the shutout win over Acadia.

Ryan Bailey singled three times and scored twice for Bucksport. Tyler French and Tyler McAllian both singled and scored two runs. Nason had three walks and two runs scored.

Duncan Smith hit an infield single in the fourth inning for Acadia.

At Narraguagus, Joe Perreaualt hit a triple, a double, three singles and drove in two runs to pace Sunrise to victory.

Nathan Dublin drove in the winning run with a RBI single in the fifth inning and was the winning pitcher.

Toby Woods had five singles and two RBIs and Phil Morse had three singles and two RBIs to lead Machias.

At Bangor, Jacob Chapman doubled and singled to knock in a run and allowed just one run on four hits while striking out eight in six innings to lift Holbrook past Lincoln.

Ray Bessette added two singles for the winners.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, the Orono-Veazie all-stars scored three runs in the top of the eighth after watching Hampden tie the game with four runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.

Dan Lesser’s RBI single scored the winning run in the eighth. He had two singles in the game. Cameron Dwyer had three singles and an RBI while Andy Rios singled twice for Orono-Veazie. Josh Storgaard earned the win with 1 2/3 inning of one-hit relief.

Cody Miller had a double, a single and an RBI for Hampden. Jacob Ward had two singles and two RBIs while Fred Knight added two singles.

Mike Bridges had a two-run single and Dylan Dedmon three singles and two RBIs for the winners. Sam Carmichael added a pair of RBI singles.

Peter Worrwick had a solo home run, RBI double and two-run single for the Acadians.

Breanna Weston, Kendra Thurlow and Maci Tash each singled for Lincoln.
