Bucksport

‘Golden Radio Days’

The Riverbend Players will perform “WRBP Presents Golden Radio Days” at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26, and Sunday July 29, at the Alamo Theatre, and in the evening on Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28, at the waterfront gazebo in Bucksport, as part of the Bucksport Bay Festival.

The show will take the audience back to a time when the Great Depression was looming, and when everyone listened to the radio to take their minds off the nation’s troubles. However, not everyone was lucky enough to own a radio. So when anyone in the neighborhood had a radio, it was an automatic invitation to come over and listen to shows, ads, comedy and music.

Authentic music, period costumes, authentic props, and talented performers in the show, will give the illusion that the audience has been transported back to the golden era of radio in the 1930s.

Tickets for the shows at the Alamo Theatre may be obtained at BookStacks on Main Street. For more information, call Suzi Leeman at 469-5885, or e-mail Suzi@riverbendplayers.com.
