GLENBURN – Jillian Byers and Katie Kivler each singled twice and drove in two runs to help Hermon capture the District 3 Little League softball title for ages 9-10 with a 14-4 victory over Lincoln Thursday.

Hermon advances to the state tourney in Auburn, which begins July 28.

Taylor Smith chipped in with two singles and an RBI to back winning pitcher Claire Peterson.

Courtney Shaw singled and doubled for Lincoln while Kendra Thurlow added two singles and Breanna Weston doubled.

Calais 18, Machias 2

At Machias, Allison Hill hit a triple and two singles and scored four runs to lead Calais to victory over Machias.

Chloe Black and Emily McCadden each singled twice for Calais. Sarah Smith didn’t allow a hit.

Jillian Day and Erica Reynolds scored for Machias.

At Old Town, Lindsey Allen hit two singles and drove in two runs to lead Glenburn past Old Town in the five-inning darkness-shortened game.

Alexis Casey hit a two-run single for Glenburn and Alix Rudzinski singled twice.

McKayla Gastia singled and drove in three runs for Old Town and Whitney Buck added a two-run single. Ashley England and Annie Cashon hit RBI singles.

Brett Crocker singled twice for Lincoln and Garrett Neal doubled.

At Bangor, Alex Hillier allowed just one run and one hit while striking out 10 to lift Bangor East over Orono-Veazie.

Josh Palmeter hit a single for Orono-Veazie.

At Blue Hill, Mitchell Domagala hit two doubles and two singles to drive in four runs and lead Ellsworth to victory over Coastal.

Connor McGuire and Harrison Vinyl both singled twice for Ellsworth.

Joey Pal had two singles and two RBIs to lead Coastal. Finn McMahon-Allwine had two singles and an RBI and Asher Giberson singled twice.

Kyle Johnson also had two triples and five RBIs for Calais. Spencer Johnson and John Lapointe doubled and Will Urquhart hit two singles.

Derek Stoddard walked twice for Bucksport Two.

At Hampden, Spencer Valley hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to lead Brewer past Hampden-Newburgh.

Valley tripled, doubled and singled with three RBIs for Brewer. Matt Morrow had two singles and an RBI and Kyle Alexander singled twice.

Logan Stewart and Brian Fickett hit two-run home runs for Hampden-Newburgh and Eric Hanson added a first-inning RBI single.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Brandon Briggs, Nick Moore and Joey Bartol each had an RBI single in the fifth inning to pace Brewer to victory.

Kyle McLain and Yuhi Sasaki had two singles and an RBI apiece and Mark Mollentin two singles for Brewer.

Nick Cota tripled and singled to knock in a run for Orono-Veazie.

At Bar Harbor, Fred Lebel hit a two-run triple and an RBI single to lead Coastal past Acadian.

Josh Gale singled twice and knocked in a run for Coastal and Skylar Van der Eb added an RBI double.

Duncan Smith singled and drove in all three runs for Acadian, which was eliminated from the tourney.

At Bucksport, Marshall Harriman pitched a 78-pitch complete game with five strikeouts and no walks as Bucksport eliminated Mount Desert Island in six innings.

Keegan Harriman led Bucksport with a home run and three RBIs, while Mike Bridges doubled twice with three RBIs and Marshall Harriman singled twice with three RBIs.

Catcher Ross Bowden also drove home three runs for the winners.
