HOULTON – Two local men have been charged in connection with a June 19 burglary at a local business.
Detective Troy Fitzpatrick of the Houlton Police Department said Saturday that Corey Corbett, 28, and Paul Albright, 32, both of Houlton, face charges of felony burglary and theft in connection with the early morning break-in at Weston’s Mobil on Military Street.
They also have been charged with criminal mischief, and Albright was charged with violation of conditions of release stemming from an earlier incident.
Police said that a person who was out for a walk that morning discovered that the convenience store and gas station had been burglarized and reported the incident to police.
Investigators believe that the suspects gained entry into the store by damaging a door at the rear of the building, reportedly with an object that was left at the scene.
Once inside, the perpetrators made off with roughly $1,800 in lottery tickets and $980 in cigarettes.
Approximately $750 in damage was done to the store.
Both men were taken to the Aroostook County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court today, according to Fitzpatrick.
Officer Daniel Norton and Cpl. Tom Donahue assisted in the investigation.
