ANSON – A local teenager was airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center late Saturday with life-threatening injuries after she was partially ejected from her car during a rollover accident. She was still in serious condition Monday.
Cherylann Densmore, 17, of Solon suffered serious head injuries when her Toyota Tercel drifted off the left side of Kennebec River Road, struck the frame of a utility trailer in a driveway and rolled over at least four times, according to Somerset County sheriff’s Deputy Ritchie Putnam.
An Anson firefighter reported the crash and said Densmore was unresponsive at the scene.
The accident happened about 11 p.m., and Putnam said he believed Densmore was headed home to Solon at the time.
Anson firefighters, Madison Rescue and A&M Ambulance went to the scene. Putnam said Madison police also helped him reconstruct the accident. LifeFlight Air Ambulance landed on a nearby lawn and took Densmore to EMMC.
Putnam said the crash is still under investigation.
