SEARSPORT – Cam Wadleigh’s solo home run off the top of the center-field fence in the top of the sixth inning broke a 4-4 tie Tuesday evening and propelled the Brewer Falcons to a 6-4 Zone 1 American Legion baseball victory over Waldo.

Waldo’s Noah Burke had tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run.

Jim Nicknair pitched a five-hitter for Brewer, striking out three and walking four.

Prentiss Swett added a triple for the Falcons, who took a 4-2 lead by scoring four unearned runs without benefit of a hit in the top of the second.

Jake Arthers added an RBI double and Tom Cameron had an RBI single for Waldo, both in the first inning.

Bangor 4, Hampden 3

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Tom Crews singled home Tyson Barron in the seventh inning to lift the Comrades to victory.

Barron had singled and moved up on Tyler McDade’s sacrifice bunt during the winning rally.

Ian Edwards stroked a single and a triple with two RBIs for Bangor and Crews added an RBI single for Bangor to back relief winner Neal Russell.

Brennan Perry paced Hampden with two singles, while Patrick Stephens and Cory Harding each posted an RBI single.
