Honored video production

HAMPDEN – From more than 14,000 entries worldwide, a Hampden woman has been recognized for outstanding achievement for her production, “It Takes Just a Second.”

The emotionally charged video is about the dangers of teenage drinking, the devastating impact of poor choices, how even the innocent become victims and how being in the wrong place can be at the wrong time.

Free-lance producer Anne Gabbianelli O’Reilly has received a Bronze award from the 28th annual Telly Awards, which showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video companies in the world.

O’Reilly, in conjunction with WABI TV 5 and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, worked for more than seven months to research the facts of issues of concern to law enforcement.

The 15-minute production includes re-enactments and testimonials. Local actors from area college and high school drama and Key clubs, and community members participated in the production.

“It Takes Just a Second” was funded through the Penobscot County Sheriff’s office and a coalition of S.P.R.I.N.T. for Life, Penobscot Valley Hospital, Millinocket Regional Hospital, Taking Back our Community, Katahdin Area Partnership, Maine Office of Substance Abuse and SAD 67.

“It Takes Just a Second” aired on WABI TV 5 in May and is being used in educational venues throughout Maine.
