AFS exchange program

The McHenrys of Bangor announced a new arrival to their home and family. Alexander from Germany will live with them for a year while attending Bangor High School.

The McHenrys are hosting Alexander through AFS, a worldwide, nonprofit exchange organization. Host families open their homes and hearts to students, providing a bed, meals, guidance and support. Local AFS volunteers and staff support the families and students during their time here.

The McHenrys are one of more than 2,700 families nationwide who are continuing the AFS tradition of furthering world peace through intercultural understanding.

More host families are needed, as well as volunteers to visit as liaisons with families and their students each month. For more information about AFS, e-mail rdollery@afs.org, call 800-876-2377, ext. 135 or visit www.afs.org/usa.
