ORONO – The University of Maine’s Page Farm and Home Museum will participate in Open Farm Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, with more than 80 farms and farm museums statewide.
The Page Farm will feature a blacksmith operating a forge, in addition to a spinning demonstration and herbal crafts.
There also will be an ice cream and butter-making demonstration and a picnic lunch at noon featuring homemade baked beans, biscuits, coleslaw, salads, watermelon, lemonade and iced tea.
Participants are asked to bring a dish to share and a blanket to sit on. The event will be held rain or shine and is free and open to the public.
