Yes, I too would like to get out of Iraq. But there will be some price to pay for doing so.
While it may well be true that Al-Qaida has gained from our Iraq involvement, does anyone think that the Islamofascists won’t take credit for our departure? Would our departure, leaving others in the lurch, really facilitate future alliances when we might need them?
Whether or not we were right in getting involved in Iraq in the first place is wonderfully irrelevant today. We must consider the consequences of our present and future actions.
