HERMON – Defending champion John Phippen Jr. of Town Hill traded the lead with Paul White of Corinna before emerging with the victory in the Sportsman Pro Stock race Sunday at Speedway 95.

White finished second, followed by Doug Day of Glenburn, Jesse Smith of Bangor and Greg Morse of St. Albans.

Wiscasset Raceway

At Wiscasset, Kevin Douglas of Sidney took the lead on lap 10 of the Stock Mini main event Friday and held it the rest of the way, avoiding a wreck in the 57th lap that forced the race to be called early because of the extensive cleanup.

Mike Wilson of Chelsea finished in second place. Sidney’s Dan Somes was third, followed by Jeremy Douglas of Waterville and Shawn Kimball of Pittston.

Winterport Dragway

At Winterport, Mike DiCenzo of Calais topped Jerry Hatch of Lubec Saturday to take the Super Pro/Pro Final at Winterport Dragway.

In the completion of a suspended race from July 15, Mac Beckwith of Hermon beat out Don Joy of Machias in the Super Pro/Pro Final.

Pro All Stars Series

At Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Turner’s Mike Rowe and his son, Ben, finished 1-2 in Sunday’s IWK 250 Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Models race at Riverside International Speedway.

Rain postponed the race’s start from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon.

Former NASCAR Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year and two-time race winner Ricky Craven of Newburgh finished 26th in the 30-car field.

Nextel Cup driver Regan Smith of Cato, NY finished third, Richie Sanborn of Hollis was fourth and Greg Plourde of North Willshire, Prince Edward Island rounded out the top five.

Stetson’s Gary Bellefleur Jr. finished ninth and Stephen Berry of Gorham was 10th.
