Time Warner Cable Road Runner Internet and phone services were restored at 4:04 p.m. Wednesday after a planned outage, according to a technical support representative.
How or if customers were informed of the outage before its occurrence, or a reason for the outage, couldn’t be determined Wednesday because reporters’ phone calls to Time Warner’s public relations office in Maine weren’t returned before press time.
Customers who called the technical support line, however, heard the following message for much of the afternoon:
“Thank you for calling Time Warner Cable. We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with Road Runner and phone service in the follow areas: Bangor, Calais, Lincoln, Orono, Somesville and Ellsworth. We are working to correct the problem and we hope to have services restored shortly.”
The planned outage was scheduled for about four to six hours, according to the technical support representative.
