BUCKSPORT – Bangor advanced to the championship round of the state Junior League All-Star baseball tourney with a 13-3 win over Lewiston Thursday.
Jacques Larochelle doubled, singled and scored two runs to help Bangor eliminate Elliot Avenue of Lewiston in the double-elimination tourney.
Bangor will play undefeated Bucksport for the Junior League baseball state championship today at 1 p.m. in Bucksport. If Bangor wins, the teams would play a second title game Saturday.
Sam Patterson, Phil Frost and Brandon Landry each singled and knocked in two runs for Bangor. Tyler Desjardins had two singles and an RBI and Josiah Hartley added an RBI triple.
Mekae Hyde singled twice to lead Elliot Avenue and Cody Dussault singled and scored a run.

At Machias, Dylan Young and Mike Brooks each singled and scored a run as the Ellsworth All-Stars captured the District 1 title.
Ellsworth will play the District 6 champion in the state tournament at Saco on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Brian Jones allowed two runs while scattering six hits and two walks and striking out four for Ellsworth.
Lucas Kalloch singled twice and drove in a run for Machias and Gage Feeney hit two singles.
