Patty A. Hersey has been appointed corporate services officer at Katahdin Trust Co. Hersey has more than 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She joined Katahdin Trust as an electronic banking clerk in 1999, was promoted to supervisor of deposit operations in 2002 and to operations officer in 2006. In her new job, she will be responsible for the bank’s corporate products and services, such as online banking, bill payment and the bank’s newest product offering, eCheck Deposit. Hersey attended Houlton High School and the Northern New England School of Banking in Durham, N.H.. She obtained her supervisory leadership certificate from the University of Maine in Orono and general financial services diploma from the Northern New England Center for Financial Training. Hersey serves as a committee member of the Houlton High School Music Boosters and the Out of the Darkness Community Walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. She resides in Houlton with her husband, Wendell, and has three children: Nicholas, Mariah and Ian.

U.S. Cellular has chosen Shane Leketa and Christine Doyle, retail wireless consultants in the company’s retail store in Bangor, and Melissa Borden, a retail wireless consultant in the Brewer store, to participate in the Leadership Institute, the firm’s leadership training program. The three will attend an eight-month program focusing on high-impact communication, making effective decisions, and developing others.
