Alleged assailant injured with knife

A 33-year-old man was in jail after reportedly assaulting his girlfriend and injuring himself with a knife.

Robert Andrick of Millinocket faces several charges after a domestic dispute in East Millinocket just before 9 p.m. Saturday during which he apparently threatened to harm his girlfriend and himself, according to police.

Sgt. Michael Davis of the East Millinocket Police Department said Andrick cut himself in the shoulder and the torso before police arrived on the scene.

Andrick faces charges of domestic assault, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing, and obstructing the report of a crime or injury. He is being held on $5,000 bond at the Penobscot County jail. (Kevin Miller, BDN)

Bangor police are reminding residents to lock their car doors after a string of burglaries.

Police received several reports of items being stolen from unlocked cars Sunday afternoon and evening. While several of the incidents were on the city’s west side, police said there also have been burglaries elsewhere in the city. (Kevin Miller, BDN)
