YORK – Thomaston’s Ricky Jones shot a 2-under-par round to lead the 51-player field in the U.S. Amateur Qualifier at the Ledges in York. Jones had rounds of 68 and 70 to qualify for the U.S. Amateur Championship for the second straight year.

Trevor Murphy of St. Johnsbury, Vermont will join Jones as the second qualifier. He shot 71 and 73 rounds.

Waterville’s Toby Spector will be the second alternate. He and Brian Higgins of Bellingham, Mass. had rounds of 145.
