NORRIDGEWOCK – The Maine Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that drivers using U.S. Route 2 in Norridgewock should use extra care and caution for the next several nights due to a repaving project. Work will begin tonight and continue through Sunday, Aug. 5, weather permitting.
The down town Norridgewock work is one of four area projects all covered by the same contract, according to the DOT. The Norridgewock work area begins one-tenth of a mile west of the U.S. Route 201A intersection with Route 2 and extends east for six-tenths of a mile.
Other projects covered by the same project include work on U.S. Route 201 in Solon and Bingham, U.S. Route 2 in Skowhegan and Route 150 in Skowhegan. The contract covering all four projects was awarded to Pike Industries of Lewiston, on a bid of more than $1.8 million. It calls for completion of work on all four projects by late October.
