Piscataquis County authorities are still searching for a man who robbed a Guilford credit union earlier this week.
There had been no arrests made in the armed robbery of the Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union as of Thursday evening, according to the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Investigators have described the robber as a white male in his early 20s, roughly 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall with a medium to muscular build.
He is believed to have short-cropped, light brown hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a medium-blue T-shirt and carrying a backpack.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call 800-432-7372 and ask for Lt. Bob Young or Sheriff John Goggin.
At least two people were injured Thursday night when their car struck a moose on Interstate 95 north of Bangor.
The collision happened around 9 p.m. on a stretch of the interstate in the Orono-Old Town area. Rescue crews from Orono and Old Town as well as state police responded to the incident. At least two people were transported to a local hospital, according to preliminary reports.
No other information was available late Thursday.
