HODGDON – The A.E. Howell Wildlife Conservation Center will host an open house 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. Tours of the refuge, raffles and door prizes will be available.
Smokey the Bear will attend from noon to 1 p.m. to give kids tips on outdoor safety, and Tia Bastien of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention will talk about West Nile virus, Eastern equine encephalitis, and deer ticks in Maine.
