ST. ALBANS – Town selectmen have called an emergency meeting for 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, to review the articles for a special town meeting.

According to Town Clerk Stacey Desrosiers, several articles had to be reviewed by Maine Municipal Association’s legal division before the exact wording could be set.

The special town meeting is expected to be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, and the warrant deals with a land purchase for a new fire hall, acceptance of a gift of $50,000 from former Selectman Wolfgang Fasse for that purchase, paying First Park dues, raising additional funds for the Sebasticook Valley Hospital Ambulance, and a land swap.
